MultiSafepay plugin for WooCommerce for WordPress

So I was setting up a small shop for a friend’s handmade stuff, and suddenly realized we needed more than just Stripe or PayPal. Our customers were mostly in the Netherlands and Belgium, and we kept getting emails asking for local payment options. That’s when I found this MultiSafepay plugin for WooCommerce for WordPress. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a free plugin, but it actually worked without any weird setup hell.

The good stuff

The thing that surprised me was how many payment methods it actually supports out of the box. We’re talking Visa, Mastercard, American Express - standard stuff - but also AfterPay and gift cards. That last one was a win for our holiday sales. People could buy a gift card directly on the site and send it to someone else. No extra steps. Also, E-Invoicing is a nice touch if you’re dealing with B2B clients who want to pay later. The admin dashboard is clean, and transaction history updates instantly. It didn’t slow down the checkout at all, which is huge for me after past plugin disasters.

The not-so-good

It’s definitely niche. If you’re outside Western Europe, you might not even see most of these options available. And while it’s free, there’s no real support channel listed - just a vague link to their help center. I had a minor issue with test mode not switching properly, and I ended up digging through old forum posts. Also, the plugin doesn’t do anything fancy beyond payments. No subscription handling, no fraud detection built-in. You’ll still need other tools for that. And if you’re used to Stripe’s interface, this feels a little dated. But honestly, it does what it says on the tin - just process payments.

Bottom line

If you’re running a WooCommerce store in Europe and want to offer AfterPay, local cards, or gift cards without paying extra, this plugin is worth a try. It’s free, stable, and gets the job done. Skip it if you’re based elsewhere or need advanced features like recurring billing. But for basic European payments? Yeah, go ahead and install it. It’s low risk, high reward.
