The good stuff

It’s so dumb-simple it’s almost refreshing. I didn’t have to configure anything. Just go to plugins, install DMN Hush, activate. That’s it. Comments vanished from every post type. Even better, it removes all comment-related links from the admin menu - which is huge if you’re managing a site for someone who keeps poking around in the backend and getting confused. My client stopped asking why there were “comments” showing up on static pages. Also, the plugin doesn’t leave behind any trace - no extra settings page, no lingering options. Clean. Minimal. Exactly what I needed.

The not-so-good

And yeah, it’s not exactly feature-rich. If you want to disable comments on some posts but keep them on others, this isn’t the tool. You’re either all in or you’re not. There’s also no way to re-enable comments per-post without deactivating the whole plugin first. So if you’re doing temporary comment freezes, you’ll need something else. And since the developer is unknown and there’s no download count, I’m a little cautious about long-term reliability. But honestly, if you just want to nuke comments permanently, it’s not a problem.

If you’re running a clean, content-focused site and don’t want comments anywhere - on posts, pages, or custom types - DMN Hush for WordPress is a solid free choice.
